$1 BILLION March Madness Bracket Contest

And I thought of of the cash prizes that the daily fantasy sports sites were big. There is now a $1 Billion March Madness Bracket Contest being run by Quicken Loans and insured by rich dude Warren Buffet.
It is officially called the Billion Dollar Bracket Challenge.
Basically if someone creates the perfect NCAA March Madness bracket, they will win $1 Billion!
Realistically, nobody will win this because the perfect bracket is an unattainable dream but hey, it is worth a shot.
At least having a billion dollar bracket contest will get publicity.

Ahhh...$1 Billion dollars for playing an NCAA March Madness Bracket...dare to dream!
I have been playing March Madness NCAA Bracket contests since I was a wee little one and have never come close to a perfect bracket. I have won my fair share of NCAA contests but a perfect Bracket, not likely!

Although it is impossible, one can dream!

    Thanks for sharing DaBears.

I will take a shot at the Billion Dollar Bracket Challenge although I'm realistic that I probably won't be a billionaire after March.

I looked it up, it's not even a $1 Billion one time payment, it's $40 Million a year over 25 years...or you can take a $500 Million one time payout. Still a prize worth playing for but after Uncle Sam takes his cut the number starts to dwindle.

A 1 Billion Dollar contest that is basically impossible. Like you said, you can only dream. Even the $500 million one time payout would be nice. However, there is nothing wrong with tying. Therefore, you can count me in on this contest.

Like you said, it can't hurt to try to win $1 billion playing a NCAA march madness bracket

Not "basically" impossible...IMPOSSIBLE. There is a better chance the Sun will explode and destroy the entire Universe shortly after Elvis reincarnates Jesus and Jimmy Hoffa.

I haven't imagined that even in my dreams! It's fantastic!

I'll give it a shot. I don't know anything about college basketball though. I basically pick my bracket their weird names or based on how good their football team is. Needless to say, I'm not going to win a billion dollars.

While it maybe very difficult, statistically it is not impossible. Without doing the long tedious math, odds are probably once every 20-30 years a perfect bracket should be created. The only problem preventing a perfect bracket from happening is the fact that people take certain games to be a for "sure thing" and inevitably one of those "sure things" gets upset.

No, statistically it is possible, it's just not very probable. As I just wrote in this DraftStreet thread its the opportunity to take advantage of these free contests that people need to do. Will I win a billion dollars in this march madness bracket...probably not, but I probably won't win the next power ball ticket for $300 million either - still won't mean I don't pluck down $10 and try.

I can't imagine being upset that this is being offered. It's sure worth a shot. As the old saying goes, "Nothing ventured, nothing gained". Is it likely I'll win, nope. Am I out anything if I don't? Nope. Short answer: What the hey? I"ll try it.

That’s really insane, 1 billion dollars, but I think the odds are close to the same as the lottery if not worse. I wonder, is it free or not? Even if there is a fee though, that’s one heck of a profit if someone won. And you’re right, I’m sure no one will win that, but it is incredibly great publicity for Quicken Loans, but how much do they really need? They have an arena, their ads are all over the internet, and I think their reputation precedes them in that industry.

I guess no one is too rich though, I do applaud them for doing this and Warren Buffet too, that’s a good chunk of change for anyone to pay out, I don’t care how rich you
are. I guess good luck to anyone entering it, and can you give me some?

Has anybody ever thought of what if someone made like hundreds of different combinations in an attempt to win the whole thing. That would be funny but nearly impossible to do. Obviously they'll only give it out for a perfect bracket and not just the bet. When you think about it, the whole bracketology just comes down to winning a coin toss multiple times.

Just found out that only entries from the US are accepted. No Canadian entries for the Quicken Loans $1 Billion March Madness Bracket Contest. What a gip! So an American wins the Quicken Loans $1 Billion March Madness Bracket Contest they will just spend it on TV's video games and guns? That's total Bulls*^t! I think every Canadian should boycott Quicken products altogether up here. I don't know if we have Quicken loans, but there are other tax software products to ban here.
No more Quicken in Canada until they let Canadian residents enter the
Quicken Loans $1 Billion March Madness Bracket Contest!
